As many of you know my brother, Billy, and sister-in-law, Miwa, had my sweet baby Nephew, Kaito, last December.  

Kaito was born 12 weeks premature weighing in at less than 3 pounds.  He has lived his entire little life so far in the NICU at Rady’s Children Hospital.  Kaito will be 9 months old soon and we hope that he will be able to come home by his first birthday.  

When Kaito was born, we soon found out that he had an imperforate anus, esophageal atresia, and tracheoesophageal fistula. He immediately had to endure his first of many life sustaining surgeries and has now been diagnosed with neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn, and pulmonary vein stenosis of the upper pulmonary veins.  He currently has a colostomy bag, a g feeding tube, and most recently had a tracheostomy last Thursday.

Miwa has exhausted all of her available leave time and had to return to work for the beginning of the school year.  After work, they both race to Kaito’s side and they finish their nights at the Ronald McDonald House.

Billy and Miwa will have many unexpected costs and many of you have been asking how you can help.  So I set up this go fund me to see if we can at least help them out a little monetarily.
