Irish-Townsend House Phase 2

Tax deductible
In 2022 we will start on Phase 2; there will be several key objectives we hope to accomplish. First, our architect is working on a detailed set of design and construction drawings for the rehabilitation of the Irish-Townsend House. Second, we will begin working on restoring windows and woodwork inside the house. Our objective here is to go room by room removing windows, stripping the paint, replacing glass were needed with historic correct panes, weatherizing the window frame and placing the window back in place. In each room we will safely remove the old paint, repair the wood trim when necessary and prime the trim. This work is to be done by members of the Historical Society. Our room-by-room goal is to be ready for the electrical, plumbing and HVAC when the architect finishes his plans.
Of course, these new objectives are not inexpensive, we are setting a Phase 2 monetary goal of $40,000. This will enable us to complete the architectural plans and finish the room-by-room rehabilitation on the first floor.
