Help Mojo Get His Mojo Back!

Donation protected
If you know me, you know Mojo. I probably have overshared with you about his brilliance and devotion, made you watch hours of videos of us competing, or we may have done an entire trick performance for you. Mojo is my best friend, my rock and my joy through every moment of my life. From high-school to college to now, Mojo has been by my side. Equally, nothing makes me happier than to return the favor for him and provide him with as much comfort and joy as possible. We began hiking as an outlet for his energy and have since climbed many peaks around the northeast. Our hikes together have been such a pillar for both of us, just the two of us wandering nature. Mojo and I have climbed mountains, competed regularly in agility, and learned many complex trick behaviors. Through our agility training, we formed our own language. We trained, competed, formulated plans and strategies together. Mojo understands me on each and every level. I would not be the person I am today without Mojo. I know that no matter what, no matter where I am or what’s going on, Mojo will be there to keep me safe and make me laugh. For 6 years, we have been a team, inseparable and connected on a level deeper than anything I’ve ever experienced.

In 2018, Mojo was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia in both hips. His team of orthopedic veterinarians and physical therapists decided he was still able to be active and do high-impact sports, with careful monitoring and regular bodywork and strength training. However we quickly learned that was not the case and his physical health declined rapidly. At only six years old, Mojo can no longer do any of the things that make him happy, he cannot hike or run or jump into bed to cuddle. Our life was rich and active, and now he can barely walk after a 20 minute walk. Over the course of the last few years, we have done everything under the sun to relieve pain and make him comfortable. Everything short of the one procedure that could offer Mojo the access to life that he deserves: a Total Hip Replacement. I unfortunately am 22 years old and straight out of college, with a job in the service industry and cannot afford the $10K price tag. That’s why I’m reaching out to you, my community, and asking you to contribute any amount, even if it’s just $1.

Mojo and myself would be forever touched and eternally grateful for any donation, small or large. He is miserable, confined by his body while his brain continues to work at the pace of a thriving Border Collie. Mojo is suffering and desperately needs this surgery. The pain exacerbates behavioral issues, causing him to more frequently and severely react with fear to people and dogs who he loves. If all goes well, a THR has the ability to nearly return him to the strength and mobility he had before his diagnosis. The procedure is done regularly and has a very high success rate. We are confident that a THR will return Mojo to a high quality of living that he hasn’t experienced for quite some time. Mojo will be able to run, jump, play, hike, and experience movement without crippling pain! We will finally be able to do the things that make us happy and bring us closer. Mojo’s Hip Dysplasia will never be completely gone, but a THR relieves the extraordinary amount of pain he suffers from everyday. A THR gives him the freedom to be a dog again.

Thank you so much for your time and attention this far. If you make a donation to Mojo’s campaign, I promise that your generosity will be deeply appreciated by me, Mojo, and all those who love him. Your donation has the power to change Mojo’s life and give us another 6 years to do what we love together.
