Synopsis: In the 50s, a teenage boy struggles to gather the courage to ask a girl to "go steady" while on a date.

Hello! I am Matthew Clive, an aspiring filmmaker. I have loved films for as long as I've been capable of loving anything. Films are everything to me. Over the past four years, I have attended film school; first at MVCC In Utica, NY, and now at SUNY Oswego in New York. I have grown tremendously as a writer and director and, for my thesis, I want to swing for the fences and pay homage to an era that not only speaks to me, but also to tell a story about human connection. Drawing inspiration from directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Mike Flanagan, it is my goal to create something that will speak to others and inspire them. This is a film that has been on my mind for quite a while and it would mean the world to me to make it come to life. There are fluid camera movements, a dance sequence, and snappy dialogue to boot, while maintaining the beating heart of the story that is a teenage boy trying to gather the courage to tell a girl that he loves her. We will shoot at the B'Ville Diner in Baldwinsville, NY for 3-4 days. I will be collaborating with a good friend and tremendous DP, James McEntee, on the project and a talented cast.
