Jesse Bossert Recovery Fund

Hello all,

I am setting up this GoFund Me to help out the Bossert family during this time. Below are details that were shared by Jessie regarding the incident:

"Mike's oldest son Jesse and his friend Devin were critically injured in a vehicle accident between 12:30-1 last Saturday night. Struck at an intersection by a semi.

Both were ejected but which possibly saved them as his truck is severely smashed and ended up crushed and upside down in a slough. The semi driver was not injured.

When we got to the ER in Harvey they were trying to stabilize the boys and sedate and intubate them both. Jesse has his ribs all broke on his left side and a punctured lung. A broken femur. Broken nose that was also blew completely open down the middle and other lacerations. They opted to just do a quick fix of stitches on all this before the other more urgent injuries. A rare break in the shoulder collar area that if does not heal on its own will require him to be shipped off elsewhere for repair. Holes in his diaphragm which parts of his stomache were coming through. He had surgery for the femur and diaphragm yesterday and spent much of the day in surgey. His stomach was pushed up completely underneath the diaphragm from the force and they had to do a large insision and were able to successfully bring everything back to where it belonged had had to be sutured there. His had a titanium rod put in the femur. The surgeons are happy with the way both boys femur surgeries went. He is on a ventilator and still intibated and sedated. Has a split spleen but they say they washed it and it should heal itself. He recieved a lot of blood transfusion. Severe road rash bruising etc. A lot of scans.

Good news is so far both are clear of brain and other organ injuries and vitals are stable. Tons of "road rash" cuts and bruising. Not everything can be found though right away at times. Due ventilator, intubation etc some of the scan options are just not possible.

I consider these boys my boys. I love them!

Jesse is the biggest sweetheart and a complete goofball. He truly has a rare golden heart. He literally brightens my days. He's seen me happy, sad, mad, and hurt. He's helped me through when I've been injured. Not only is he Mike's son he's like a son to me and he's my friend, my bud. He makes me laugh all the time. He works at the butcher shop with me and he's such a great worker. He truly brightens my every day. I always look forward to seeing him there every day at work. He makes my work even more fun.

But they are alive!!!! That is what truly matters THE most!!!! And they will pull through this!!!

Please pray for them during this and what will be a long road to recovery. They are going to need it!"
