Hi, my name is Bree, I’m eighteen, and need tuition.
I’m working toward my dream of becoming an EMT at Bay College…a career where I’ll be saving lives and serving my community. But right now, I’m struggling just to stay in school.
I was told I’d receive nearly full tuition through FAFSA, yet I was awarded little to nothing. Instead of “free college,” I’m facing over $5,000 in tuition bills just to attend classes and afford a working laptop and books. I’m doing everything I can, I work two jobs while also being the primary caregiver for my dad, who is disabled. My mom is unemployed, and every penny counts in our home.
I had planned to join the National Guard, believing I could serve while staying close to my family. But after signing up, I was told I’d be sent to Texas. That meant leaving my dad without the care he depends on, something I simply couldn’t do. With my CNA license, I’m able to handle his medication and help him live day-to-day, and I couldn’t abandon him.
Every day, I’m juggling school, work, and family responsibilities, but I refuse to give up on this dream. I want to build a career where I can make a difference for others, the same way I’ve been making a difference for my own family.
If you can spare anything… whether it’s $5, $20, or more… it would go directly toward my tuition and allow me to keep pursuing this path. Every donation is not just helping me… it’s helping build a future EMT who will be there to help someone in their darkest moment.
Thank you for reading my story and for any support you can give.
