Hi. My name is Heidi and I compete nationally and internationally in veteran kata and more recently nationally in kumite. I am a 2nd Dan Blackbelt in Wado-Ryu and 1st Dan blackbelt in Wadokai.

I train with the Wadokai England squad as well as attending training at club regularly. I am a Silver European kata medallist both for individual, female team and mixed team.

As a mum of two adventurous boys and a primary teacher life is very hectic. Sometimes, due to finances, it means I have to make some very difficult decisions between home and competing for my country which shouldn't have to be the case.

I want to prove to myself and everyone that you can succeed at sport no matter your age or gender or how late you start.

I am committed to achieving as highly as I can in kata. Karate has given me a different, more positive perspective on life. I wish to uphold true karate traditions as well as compete in sport karate in kata.

I am driven and passionate and hope to make it to Japan at some point to compete but I cannot do this without your support. With entrance fees, time off work, travel and sometimes accomodation, it can be tricky to fund and I keep cutting back on training and working more but that doesn't get me where I need to be. I know I'm not 15 anymore but I will do all I can to make it happen starting with this go fund me page.
