Yanieka made 'superior honor roll' and has this to say, "Thank you for helping to pay for my school. I am learning a lot." Yanieka, age 10.
As another school year begins my mind is turned to a huge piece of my heart where my nieces reside, Livia (15), Emilia (12) and Yanieka (10) who are smart, beautiful and all quite funny in their individual ways. I love them very much and do not see them nearly enough as they live in Hawaii (which is not quite as glamorous as it sounds) with their family who are missionaries to Micronesia and other difficult to reach areas.
Their parents, my brother Jim and his wife, Nico have been a part of an organization called Youth With a Mission for over 15 years. They have given their lives to make the love of God felt in this crazy world. Each month they rely on generous sponsors to meet their budget, which as you can imagine is quite a challenge. They are incredible faithful people and what they do is amazing! Check out this video if you have three minutes:

So, school is starting and is very expensive for their family. This year Livia will attend a local Christian high school (http://www.makualani.com/)
and Emilia and Yanieka will attend a private school structured for missionary children (http://www.uofnkona.edu/ministries/the-learning-center/). These institutions are the perfect places for the girls to gain what they need at this juncture in their education and development. The tuition and expenses this year for all three girls will total $11,200, they have received $2,500 in scholarships but still need to raise $8,700. Unfortunately I am not able to write a check for this amount so I am here asking you good people to help raise the money they need for the girl's education this year.
If you can give any amount toward this worthy cause I would be very thankful. Truly, every $15, $25 or $50 will be helpful. Thank you for considering this opportunity to help members of my amazing family.
