UPDATE
After this surgery, things have gotten pretty bad. I had finally had my hip revision on February 4th and thought that was the end to this very long chapter and time for a new one to start. I was wrong. Shortly after my stitches came out from that surgery, part of my incision opened up, got infected and I needed emergency surgery to clean it out on April 1st. I was in the hospital for over a week with my husband by my side the entire time. I had to get another PICC line, 6 weeks of antibiotics every 8 hours as well as oral antibiotics to stop this infection from spreading to my new hip replacement. Unfortunately shortly after being released my incision once again started to open which required another hospital stay with a surgery on April 16th which left me with a large hole in my leg, a wound vac that requires painful changes 3 times a week and another surgery yet to be scheduled where they will have to take muscle, tendons and skin from my back and put it into my hip to hopefully get this to heal. This is a long update so if you made it this far thank you! I unfortunately have to share this GoFundMe again because my husband has maxed out his FMLA, sick time and vacation time to be by my side throughout this which has helped me tremendously. If you can't donate please share and send me all the positive vibes, prayers my way. Thank you!
As most of you know, I've just had another hip surgery due to a failed hip replacement. This surgery has left me without a hip replacement and hip. I have a medicated spacer in place as well as a PICC line where I'm giving myself antibiotics every 8 hours for 6 weeks. I will need another surgery in January.
Unfortunately, my husband can only take so much time off work, and I need a lot of medical supplies that insurance won't cover. I also need special furniture that will make it a lot easier to sit and sleep because that has become unbearable at the moment.
It's truly humbling when you have to reach out and ask for support, I'm usually the one helping people, but this is one of the hardest things I've ever experienced in my life. I'm unable to work, and insurance refuses to cover even basic things I need. I must swallow my pride and reach out here for help. Anything that is donated is truly appreciated and will go towards medical supplies, medicine, hospital bills, and help with bills at home. Thank you, everyone, for everything!
