On May 3 of last year, I was struck by lightning, leaving me with mild frontal lobe brain damage. I have short-term memory loss, trouble typing and with math, acute acoustical trauma to both ears, and one eye has nerve damage. This was a strike through a land line telephone. I am lucky to have survived, but, it has not been an easy trip.
I still have many lingering effects, especially the memory and typing problems, remembering things I do with my daughter, and severe depression and anxiety.
After settling with the Workman's Compensation company, I was able to place a downpayment on a home and pre-pay 6 months of mortgages, thinking this would be ample time to heal my brain and get back in the saddle of being a fabulous travel agent.
Unfortunately, some things don't heal so quickly. I launched my own agency, but, sales have been slow. To make up for that, I took on a roommate, and got a second job. My husband, Brad, takes care of the beautiful baby Willow while I work, and is now searching for work for himself.
I am asking for help to pay my mortgage, as I am going to be foreclosed on in approximately 2 weeks. We are seriously behind on payments, as well as electric and water, and my whole world is falling apart in front of my beautiful 3 year old's eyes. I cannot bear the thought of losing everything after all I have been through to get it.
Please help us. Every dime will go to bills and get us out of this so we will be caught up and surviving. Please. Every little bit counts.
Thank you to those of you that have helped me personally.....I would be homeless already without you.
