Since our first humble production of Peter Pan in 2014, St. Mary's Children's Theater has grown in ways we never thought possible. The talent of the young people we serve continues to amaze us! They have appeared in more than 19 shows and have entertained more than 12,000 theatre enthusiasts from throughout our coastal region and beyond! Three years ago we split our stage participants into Junior and Mainstage groups. This past year we added a third troupe, Encore, for actors postn high school. We re-branded as Saltwater Performing Arts to reflect our offerings for children and adults, As such, we anticipate 2020 will be our biggest year yet and are eager to see what the future holds but we need a stage to call home!
It is a true testament to the commitment of our leadership and the support of the community that we have accomplished so much with no stage of our own. In order to continue to grow our program offerings we recognize that securing a building is the next logical step in becoming Saltwater Performing Arts Center. We need more rehearsal space, classrooms, and a stage to bring our vision for the future to fruition!
Saltwater Performing Arts is actively seeking a place to call ours. It will take a special space to meet our particular theatrical and educational needs. When that place presents itself, the Board of Directors will need to act and to do that we need you! As we kick off our 2019-2010 season, SPA has set a goal of raising $100,000 in 100-days as a first step in this venture.
We realize this is quite ambitious, especially in such a short amount of time, but we have an incredible support team behind us in our cast, their families, an army of volunteers, the thousands of patrons we have served these past 5 years, and the wonderful community in which we produce our shows. We have set up donor packages ranging from $50 to $5,000 to help guide us through this process and hope you will thoughtfully consider what donor level may be right for you.
