My name is Sarah, and I have been friends with Tracy Rakotomalala (Marcantonio) since 1996. Tracy underwent an emergency mastectomy to remove a cancerous tumor this week. She is currently waiting for the results to know what stage the cancer is at and if it has spread anywhere else in her body. I am asking you all for your help to assist in the medical care costs of her surgery and future treatments, as when the results come back, she will begin chemotherapy.
Tracy moved to Madagascar in 2014. She is married to Elyse, and they have two young sons, Kaleb and Joshua. Elyse is currently working for the NGO Growing the Nations Therapy Programmes in Madagascar, helping to establish occupational therapy in the country, as a therapy assistant. Tracy teaches high school English and Social Studies at Madagascar Christian Academy.
In addition to their jobs, Elyse and Tracy serve as the pastors of the C.E.I.M (Community Evangelic Independent of Madagascar) Church in Ambohidratrimo, a suburb of the capital city Antananarivo where they live. They are trying to build community through the church by providing school tuition fees to local families, so children can attend school each year. Tracy and Elyse also provide one-on-one counseling for individuals, helping them cope with daily life issues and sharing the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ with them. The church currently meets in their home (and is full to the brim each Sunday morning!), but they are hoping to buy land and build a church building in the very near future.
Thank you for your support and care for Tracy and her family at this time. They are so grateful for your love and prayers.
