I know what you're thinking. "it's just a cat.." Yeah, I've heard that many times before. And yes, there are a lot of cats, a lot of pets out there that need help. Maybe this one isn't special, but, she is special to me. A little bit about Athena aka Theny; she's a pain in the butt. Seriously, it's amazing so much sass fits in one tiny mini panther body! Despite that though, Athena has been by my side through so much. There were times where I thought she was the only living being that loved me unconditionally. It might have been on her terms, but she has always been right by my side. She has made me laugh when I needed it most, purred next to me when I was sick, let me hold her when I cried, calmed me through panic attacks, and helped me sleep when I thought I couldn't. She has done so much for me, and I want to do my best to take as good care of her as possible. As for what is going on with her, she has hardened stones in her bladder and needs an operation to have them removed. It is not likely they will pass on their own, and if they move they could cause a serious emergency situation wherein she is unable to pass urine. She isn't young but the vet has promised that with this issue resolved and on the proper diet, she could live a very long happy life with excellent quality of life.
