Hello, my name is Lucas. I'm turning 25 on Friday, and on Monday I am going to be homeless.

It would be especially wonderful to pretend as if this was a novel, new situation that I have never dealt with before. The truth of the matter is that I've dealt with homelessness and precariousness my entire adult life. I'm sure that if I could just stay with my parents for a week, or depend on someone else in these situations, this would not at all be an issue. Being working class in this country means you have no room for error. 

I have yet to figure out how to juggle a severe mental illness, a full time job, and writing. I am being evicted from my current residence on Monday. I have $300 total in the bank, and I do not want to sleep on the street. I have done that before, and I don't know how many of those nights I have left in me. 

I'm asking for $2000 because I need a security deposit and first months rent. I've almost **never** had the security of knowing I can pay rent for one month. I know if I am homeless for longer than a week, I will lose the ability to work and could just get stuck there. 

This is by far one of the most embarrassing things I've had to do. But I'm just asking for a chance.
