This page is set up in hopes of getting some much needed financial help for my brother George Ingram.
Many of you reading this will know that George was in a motor vehicle accident when he was 17 that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He has had many challenges since but that hasn’t stopped him. He finished high school and is currently employed by the Department of Environment and lives in Mount Pearl.
What you may not know is that George has spent most of the past 14 months at the Health Science Center Hospital in St. John’s. As a result of years of being wheelchair bound George has suffered complications and has undergone several extensive surgeries. After spending the last two Christmas’s in hospital he has decided to let us rally some help for his mounting bills. He has had some help through EI sick benefits, however, this has been expired since April 2018. He will remain in hospital until at least March 2019.
A couple of things we are trying to achieve with this funding are as follows:
- His van is beyond repair. Our hope is to use some of this funding to assist with the purchase of another vehicle as public transportation can cause much more wear and tear on him.
- Regular monthly bills have been accumulating, ie. Utilities, Credit Card payments.
- Home repairs – The roof is in need of repair.
Please consider giving a cash donation, any amount can help. All funds will go directly to George.
Alternatively, if you or a business you know can help, please consider donating your mechanical or carpentry skills. For example, if we can get a vehicle, we have to get the power seat base installed along with the hydraulic lift. Or if you could donate some time to help with roofing. For this you can contact George directly through Facebook messenger. He uses an iPad but the signal at the hospital is not great at times.
