Hello everyone, I’m Lynn. I’m a business owner, children’s dance instructor, artist, creative, lover of all animals, someone that questions everything, feral cat trapper, cat rehabilitator, foster, a filler fairy of our local food pantries to help the hungry, and a safe place for those in need to land.

I’m here to admit that things have not been “normal” for me for quite some time. I’ve been trying everything I can to keep life moving forward, but I’m barely treading water. Here’s my situation:

Toward the end of 2021, my dance company of 30+ years was hit hard. When Covid caught up to us, we went from just over 2100 happy, successfully learning, delightful young students a month, to 50 young dancers, in exactly 5 business days. We didn’t even have the opportunity to say goodbye. One week, all of our 2 to 5 year old dancers had something they dearly loved, and then POOF we were gone, with none of us doing anything wrong. For MANY years, my dance company had 13 extremely devoted instructors, but due to the loss of 99.5% of our dancers, 11 of my instructors needed to move on. (quickly) Since this time, I’ve lost one more important instructor, and am now down to one…….plus myself.

Since all of this chaos has happened, I’ve been trying to completely restart, and rebuild my company that was running successfully, and am gaining next to no momentum. The economy is a nightmare, plus I’m not a spring chicken anymore, so I do have a few strikes against me. But, I don’t want to give up on the young ones out there, that are wanting the opportunity to dance.

The financial loss due to Covid is immense. The debt that I now have, when I had ZERO before, is immense. Altogether, the loss is well over $400,000. You guys…..THIS is my reality. Covid is real, and it has destroyed many lives, including ours.

My little VW Tiguan SUV, that I dearly love is about to be yanked. I use my sweet little car to do my meet and greets with potential new business locations, and potential new instructors. I use my sweet little car for all of my rescue endeavors. I use my sweet little car for absolutely everything. I not only love it, I need it.

I want my dance company back. I want to keep my house and my car. I just want to be able to run my life like I have. I have worked my butt off since 91’ to get my company to where it was, and to create the life I had. But right now, it’s gone, and again…..none of us did anything wrong.

My focus right now is getting my car account caught up. After this, I’ll be working on my mortgage.

If you’ve made it this far, I appreciate you reading my current life story. I’m quite stubborn, and I guarantee this is not a permanent one. I’m GOING TO turn this around. But, right now…..I’m stuck.

If there’s any part of this that resonates with you, thank you. I’m throwing this out there not because I want to, its because I need to.

Thank you so much for your time. Truly.
