A Kidney for Keith
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Lynda and I would love for you to get to know my husband Keith's story. He is a long time resident of the city of Virginia Beach. I'm his loving wife of over 20 plus years and we have three daughters, and a son. While he's not at work or spending time with our family to include eight grandchildren, he is fighting this horrible condition called Stage-5 Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). Here is his story that I hope you will follow along in this journey to find a donor to save his life.
For those that are not aware, PKD is a hereditary disease. Both his grandmother and mother had it and unfortunately passed away before they could receive transplants. Keith's brother and sister were spared from having it. He was tested for the disease when his mother was diagnosed with it in the early 2000's. He tested positive! In 2009, he was diagnosed with having Hypertension which caused the PKD to turn into Stage-3. Fast forward to present day, he is Stage-5 with only one working kidney at a measly 15% functionality.
He is in desperate need of a kidney transplant!!! I am hoping we find a donor soon but in the mean time, he is on the waiting list which could take years. Even with medical insurance, this process is extremely expensive and I am praying that his story reaches many that are willing to help in some way shape or form. He is only 53 years old! He is not ready to leave everyone he loves behind. Please pray for my family and share this account with your friends and family. Thank you and God bless!
