Help Nick Kick Cancer

Nick Hendrix is the embodiment of “a helping hand.” Regardless of who you are, what you need, or when you call, Nick is always ready to come to your side. He’s helped with countless moves, endless car problems, and never-ending tasks around the house. Nick is our helper. Nick is our fixer. But above all else, Nick is our backbone. For his young grandchildren, who have affectionately nicknamed him “poopyhead,” the sun rises and sets wherever he is. And now, after a lifetime of being there for others, Nick needs his community to help him.

Nick was just diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer. “Cancer” is a word that no one ever wants to hear — it’s the diagnosis that we all fear most. In addition to dealing with the mental, emotional, and physical impacts of his diagnosis, we are frantically searching for ways to pay for his treatment. We are a one-income household, and we’re looking at hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical costs associated with his care. We know that Nick can kick cancer, but we also know that he can’t do it alone.
