With a lot of hope I am reaching out for help in getting our 6 yr. old granddaughter (Kaylee) back home where she belongs. Last Friday the 6th of August we went to drop her off at her mothers, who is separated from my son, A couple of hours later she contacted my wife saying that she was not going to send her back which she has all the rights to, but it is a little more complicated than it sounds. Her mother is schizophrenic, bipolar and suffers from depression, has another daughter from another father a year younger than Kaylee who was diagnosed as schizophrenic, not Kaylee but her sister. The other father is also schizophrenic and he moved in with my daughter-in-law and his daughter the week before all this happened. We were supposed to pick her up on Sunday the 8th but we hadn't heard from her since she contacted my wife about not returning her so we got worried and sent my daughter to see if she'd send her back to no avail, the mother ran my daughter off. Hearing this we got more worried than we already were so we decided to head out there to do a welfare check on her and we got nowhere on that. After police were called she allowed for us to see her even though with no contact and from the street. Kaylee yelled to my wife that she'd be home in 2 days but I think that is what she is being told to keep her with them. Since then we have had zero contact with Kaylee. A couple of days before we left her there she talked to her mom on the phone and was overheard telling her she didn't want to go with her because she was afraid that she would "steal" her, in retrospect we should have listened to what she she said but we thought nothing of it at the time, how she knew this would happen we have no idea. The amount we are trying to gather is to pay a lawyer so my son can get full custody of her and get her out of the dangerous environment she is in. The lawyer is set start the process by filing a writ of attachment and a restraining order on the mom first to get her back home and then going through with filing for full custody of her so the help is needed as soon as possible, a 1500 dollar retainer has been payed to him so he can start the process but the remainder will have to be payed before he proceeds with the custodial part and, as it is, we had to take out payday loans to cover the retainer. Hopefully we will reach that goal and get Kaylee back home safely, and we will greatly appreciate any help that can be provided. God bless and stay safe. PS; She is 6 yrs old.
