Support Ibrahim's Family After Tragic Loss
Donation protected
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu (Peace and blessings be upon you all),
It is with immense sorrow and a heavy heart that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Ibrahim Khan. Ibrahim left us on March 28, 2025, at just 16 years old, at Connecticut Children’s Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Ibrahim was born on February 20, 2009. Although his life was filled with many challenges, including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Autism Level 3, he was a source of joy, love, and light to all who knew him. His spirit shone brightly despite the obstacles he faced, and he touched the hearts of everyone around him.
Ibrahim’s journey was far from easy. He fought tirelessly through illness, and even though we knew his time would be limited, we never anticipated it would be so soon. Ibrahim’s final days were filled with struggle as he battled pneumonia and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which led to hypoxemic respiratory failure. Along with this, Ibrahim also suffered from circulatory shock and acute renal failure. Despite the best efforts of his medical team, Ibrahim’s life was claimed by Allah’s will on March 28, 2025.
In Islam, we believe that death is a transition to the Hereafter. As Allah (SWT) says in the Qur'an:
"Every soul shall taste death." (Qur'an 3:185) – This reminder of the inevitability of death provides comfort and faith that Ibrahim is now in the hands of his Creator.
Ibrahim’s mother, Safia Khan, was his constant caregiver, and he was her best friend. Her devotion to him was beyond words, and his passing is not just the loss of a son, but the loss of a deep and cherished bond. We ask Allah (SWT) to grant Safia patience and strength during this incredibly difficult time.
Ibrahim’s siblings, Maria, Rabia, and Moussa, in their early 20s, are also deeply mourning the loss of their precious brother. The entire family feels the void Ibrahim has left behind, as he was a light in their lives, a joy in their hearts, and a source of love to all who knew him.
How You Can Help
In this time of mourning, we are seeking your support to help cover funeral expenses, medical bills, and other costs related to Ibrahim’s passing. Safia, as Ibrahim’s primary caregiver, now faces the overwhelming task of navigating life without her son. Your contributions will provide relief during this challenging time.
Your support will go toward:
Funeral and memorial expenses for Ibrahim
Medical bills and any outstanding healthcare costs
Support for Ibrahim’s family, especially his mother, Safia, who is grieving the loss of her son and facing the financial burdens that come with this loss
Daily needs and household expenses during the family’s time of mourning and healing
The Power of Dua (Prayer)
In Islam, we understand that death is not the end, but a transition to the Afterlife. We humbly ask for your duas (prayers) for Ibrahim. May Allah (SWT) grant him the highest place in Jannah (Paradise) and forgive his sins. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
"When a person dies, their deeds come to an end except for three: a charity that continues, knowledge that benefits, or a righteous child who prays for them." (Sahih Muslim)
We also ask that you pray for Safia and Ibrahim’s siblings. May Allah (SWT) grant them the patience (sabr) to endure this hardship and find comfort in His mercy. We also pray that Allah (SWT) grants us all the strength to cope with this trial and that it serves as a means of elevating our ranks in the Hereafter.
Contribute to Ease the Burden
No contribution is too small. Whether it’s $5 or $500, every donation will help ease the burdens Ibrahim’s family is facing. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you share this campaign with your community and friends to help us reach as many people as possible.
As Allah (SWT) reminds us in the Qur'an:
"And cooperate in righteousness and piety." (Qur'an 5:2) – Let us all come together in this time of need to support Ibrahim’s family.
May Allah (SWT) grant Ibrahim a place in the highest gardens of Jannah, forgive his sins, and bring peace and healing to his family. Ameen.
Jazakum Allahu Khair (May Allah reward you) for your generosity, prayers, and support. Your kindness means the world to us, and your duas will help bring peace to our grieving hearts.
