9 Million Reasons Covid-19

We are raising money to be able to provide food and supplies for those New Yorkers who need it. We have already gotten close to 6,000 requests for food and supplies from all over the city. Since this crisis started we given out over 1.1 millions meals which is over 1.3 million pounds of food!! Many calls from the elderly who are shut in in their homes, many from those who have the virus and don’t want to infect others, and many from those who are disabled and aren’t able to leave the house. We have heard from so many people who can’t make ends meet because they haven’t gotten a pay check due to layoffs and furloughs from the corona virus. These people are in desperate need, and we need your help to help them. We need help buying more food, our demand has gone up almost 10 fold, and our food supply is struggling to keep up with demand. All of our donors and suppliers have been amazing, but we are still struggling to keep enough food in the building to feed everyone. We are now going through 130+ pallets of food a week. We have had to purchase close to 10,000 pounds of rice in the past 2 weeks, just to keep up with demand Every $25 can buy 50 pounds of rice enough to give out to 25 families!
