DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE HOMICIDE AFTER NW 22ND AVENUE SHOOTING

On June 19, 2023, at around 6:00 p.m., deputies responded to a report of multiple shots fired in the 4400 block of NW 22nd Avenue, in Ocala. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the victim, identified as Tylique Le’John Christie (B/M, DOB: 10/01/2004), had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition before law enforcement’s arrival.

On June 20, 2023, at around 9:30 a.m., Tylique succumbed to his injuries. MCSO Major Crimes detectives are now conducting a homicide investigation and are actively working to identify possible suspect(s). At this time, detectives believe that this is an isolated incident.
