Honor Berta's Promise: A Mother's Love

In December 1st, My Mom (Berta Hernandez) passed from a long battle she was an incredible mother. No matter what challenges came her way, she always found a way to smile, even through the pain. She put her family first, always making sure they were taken care of before herself. She kept fighting for her family until her last breath, holding on to the hope of one day being with them again.

Berta battled kidney failure and sepsis, going back and forth between hospitals like Loma Linda and St. Mary's. Every single day, she fought with everything she had, hoping and praying that one day she would be well enough to see her Family again. Even through all the hospital visits and treatments, she never lost her love for her family or her determination to keep going.

She was a loving mother, friend, and daughter. She did everything she could to make her family happy, no matter what life threw at her. Even when life was tough, she gave everything she had to others. Berta tried her best to be there for her Special needs daughter and two sons no matter where she was.

Berta had a big heart, bigger than the world could offer. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

My Mom's final wish was to be buried in Los Angeles, next to her friend at Pierce Brothers Valhalla. I her son promised her he would make this happen, and he will. Berta will always be remembered, and her love will live on in the hearts of her family.
