Hope for today

Hi, my name is Carol Kemp and a very dear friend is suffering from liver failure. She has had to stop working as a public school teacher, and now waits for the right donor to arrive. Last month she lost her only brother to suicide, his wife was the intended liver donor. This stopped the procedure, two weeks ago she was hospitalized because her body was failing. Today, Gina is in Penn hospital suffering from kidney concerns. Complications are popping up related to the liver. She is a single parent who has a ninth grader and freshman in college to support and raise. Her loss of pay, cost of medicine as well as everyday bills weigh heavy on this young family. She is a loving and dedicated mother, devoted daughter, exemplary teacher, and loyal friend.

Gina and I worked together in the 6th grade classroom for many years, she has given so much devotion to our school district, children, community and colleagues. Her spirit, enthusiasm and humor held me up during some of my personal tragedies. I know she has positively affected others in the same way.
