Leo's Family

I am setting this up on behalf of my sister and brother-in-law with their permission so that our family and friends can support this incredible family.

My nephew Leo, was born 27th September 2023. Unfortunately, Leo is very poorly, and has a long recovery ahead of him should he make it through these next few days. Below is a more in depth analysis of Leo's health.

Leo's Daddy: "All friends and family, Some of you may know on Wednesday 27th September Anna did an amazing job giving birth to our son Leo George Milnes 7:05pm weighing 7.13pounds.

Straight away the midwife noticed Leo wasn’t well and what an emotional rollercoaster we have been through, he was taken to Special Baby Care Harrogate SCBU where a special team came to transfer him to Leeds LGI.

At first the doctors thought it was his lungs, I stayed with Anna. She had to go in an ambulance with blue lights through to Leeds where I had to go in the car. When we got there we were told that Leo needed open heart surgery immediately for TAPVD or he wouldn’t make it any further so at 4am we signed the papers for him to have it at 5am he went for CT scans and at 6am he went into surgery, a whopping 12 hours later and a lot of tears he was back to paediatric intensive care unit PICU. He remains there very very poorly we don’t know if our Leo is going to make it but my god they are throwing everything they can at him and we have massive hope that he will and only time will tell.

We want to thank each and everyone of you that has messaged, we cry when we read every one and for the love and support we have received from the family on both sides you are all amazing the last 48 hours feels so much longer.

Leo is a fighter… come on son we love you baby boy.

Please bare with us as you can imagine this is a lot to take in and digest. Messages are lovely of course and I promise we will get round to replying slowly.

Leo’s Progress will be kept between the family for now. Please can you all pray for our little man and Lexi’s baby brother - she is none the wiser and she will be a massive part of getting us through this. Xxx"
