For my Mom

My moms house burnt down March 1st, and since then, she has had no place to live and no family to stay with. Unfortunately, the house was not insured and they weren't able to get any benefits other than donations after the fire. Due to COVID-19 it has been difficult for her to travel out of Peterborough to stay with friends, and has been living between a hotel and a parked trailer in the driveway of the burnt house. The trailer does not have any hot water, heating, wifi, and does not have a working kitchen.  Without hot water, she is unable to wash her hands thoroughly, putting others at risk, and with the temperature continuing to drop at night, the trailer hasn't been a great option for sleeping. She needs wifi to access banking information, as well as emails from those who are working on rebuilding the house, and she isn't able to afford a data plan. The hotel bills are racking up and due to the times, she is unable to look/find a job to help finance it. Her monthly cheques do not cover the hotel cost, taxi cost between the hotel and the house, and basic needs like food and phone bills (not to mention the cost to rebuild the house, electrician bills, contracting bills etc etc). 

I understand that now is not the best time to be looking for extra help, as we could all use the money we have saved, and have many other things to deal with during COVID-19, but I have decided to start this fundraiser because I have no other way of helping my mom at the moment.
