Save Alfred

I’ve had Alfred since the day he was born. He just turned 2 this Saturday, October 5th. My best pal Alfred is going through so much right now. He was perfectly fine and healthy but on the morning of Tuesday, October 1st, after coming back into the house after being outside, he was not himself. He was discombobulated, hunched over and 100% not himself. He wouldn’t move or walk and looked comatose. I knew right away something was wrong. My mom and I rushed him to the ER (Katonah Bedford Animal Hospital). We were there for 6 hours. After multiple and extensive  tests, they discovered that he had a rupture in his bladder right in between his urethra and bladder area. It is in between the pelvis, which is a tough spot to operate on. After being in the hospital resting for a few days, on Saturday, October 5th, he passed his dye test and we were able to bring him home to us and believed that he was healed and everything was okay. We were happy and joyed. However, Saturday and Sunday nights were rough. Alfred was up all night huffing and puffing, looking very sick and not well as before. On Monday, October 7th we bought him back to the animal hospital for a checkup and they saw urine in his stomach meaning the tear did not repair itself. He was re catheterized and taken to our local vet (for money saving purposes). We worked out with our local vet that we would leave him at the vet office during the day and bring him home at night. As soon as we bought him home that night his catheter came right out. We rushed him right back to our local vet and she was able to put a temporary one in, but it did not work. Later that night we made the family decision that we would have to bring Alfred back to Katonah Bedford Animal Hospital to get him re catheterized that night and keep him there as long, however we are very limited with the amount of money that we have left on our Credit Care card. He is there now and we are hoping that the rupture will heal on its own and that it will heal properly and the rupture will heal itself. However, he needs more time and it has been very costly. This has been an emotional, mental and physical rollercoaster for my family. We are all falling apart and running out of money to support these incredibly high medical expenses. He’s the glue to my family and the best thing that’s ever happened to us. The medical bills for our boy have been very stressful on our family. Without surgery, it has already costed us more the 13K on medical costs.  My family are tight on money right now. My brother and I are paying off student loans, as we are living on just one parents income. This unexpectedly happened. We lost his mother 2 years ago at 4 years old and don’t want to lose another baby. We will do anything and everything to save this pup. Any donation will go a far way. Please send prayers, he’s the sweetest most loving boy. He has a brother at home that is waiting for him! I can’t put into words how much this dog means to me. He has helped my family get through the darkest of times. He’s my best friend and my whole world. Please share and pass along!
