Help a Heroic Family Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
On the evening of October 2, 2025, tragedy struck the Parrish family when a fast-moving house fire destroyed their home in Sipsey, Alabama. In a matter of minutes, everything was lost—their possessions, medications, medical equipment, and most heartbreakingly, their beloved chihuahua and emotional support dog, Zoey, perished in the fire.
This family has spent their lives giving to others. Now, they need our help to recover and rebuild.
Meet Rebecca — Nurse, Caregiver, First Responder at Heart
Rebecca is a registered nurse with 22 years of service, specializing in dialysis care. Her compassion doesn’t end at her job—she’s a former paramedic and volunteer with the fire department, someone who has always run toward the crisis instead of away from it.
When tornadoes devastated parts of Sipsey earlier this year, Rebecca was there, helping others pick up the pieces. She also moved back home to care for her elderly parents, putting their health and safety first. That’s who she is.
Now, she’s facing unimaginable loss:
All her belongings destroyed
Her CPAP machine and supplies and medications gone
Her family’s emotional support dog, her daily companion and comfort, lost to the fire
Meet Dakota — A Bright, Resilient Teen with Autism
Dakota, Rebecca’s 16-year-old daughter, is homeschooled and thrives with structure and support. She lost:
Her laptop, critical for her education
All her clothing, personal belongings, hearing aids, and medical needs
Her sense of safety and routine in the world
Despite her challenges, Dakota has always met the world with curiosity and strength. This fire has upended everything she depends on.
Meet Gabriel & Dorthy — Elderly Grandparents with Complex Health Needs
Rebecca's parents also lived in the home. Both are elderly and in fragile health.
Gabriel, her father:
Lives with lung issues and uses oxygen
Lost his CPAP, oxygen supplies, dentures, prescription eyeglasses, hearing aids, medications, and all belongings
Dorthy, her mother:
Struggles with mobility and relies on assistive devices like a walker, shower chair, etc.
Lost dentures, assistive devices, medications, and daily care items in the fire
These are not luxuries—they are lifelines.
Their Four-Legged Family
The family had four beloved dogs—three made it out safely and are thankfully still with them. However, they are now in need of:
Dog food and clean water
Bedding, leashes, and other basic supplies
Emotional comfort, as they too are grieving
Why They Need Your Help
This family has lost everything but each other. They’re temporarily displaced, without basic necessities—clothes, shelter, food, medication, mobility aids, and more.
Your donation will help them:
Replace critical medical supplies and medications
Provide for Dakota’s homeschool needs
Rebuild from scratch—clothing, food, hygiene items, furniture
Care for the dogs who survived and honor the one they lost
Eventually secure stable housing
❤️ Let’s Show Them the Love They’ve Shown So Many
Rebecca and her family have always been the helpers—the ones who answer the call, show up during the storm, and put others before themselves.
Now, it’s our turn to be there for them.
Whether it’s $5 or $500, every donation helps bring them one step closer to recovery. If you’re unable to donate, please share this campaign to help spread the word.
Let’s rally around this incredible family and show them that in their darkest hour, they are not alone.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.
