Funeral Planning for my uncle

My uncle Ernst first started showing signs of ALS (Lou Gerig's Disease) in January of 2013. By July of 2013 his speech was so slurred he finally went to the doctor and the diagnosis was ALS. By Christmas of 2013 he could no longer speak. Fast forward to now and he is eating from a feeding tube and can barely hold his head up on his own. He is now in a wheelchair and is still declining rapidly. 

I was initially aiming to get him a device to communicate again. However, in speaking with my grandmother (his mom) she feels that getting his funeral arrangements in place are far more important. With how fast the disease is progressing he most likely will not survive the year. He does not have life insurance so the cost of this falls totally on us. We desperately need help in this.
