McNairy Co Tornado - Rose Nielsen & Michael Bray

Rose Nielsen and boyfriend Michael Bray's home that they have been renting in McNairy County for the past (approximately) 4 months has suffered extensive damage due to the tornados that swept across the country on March 31.

During the first tornado Rose, Michael and Rose's friend were in the house taking shelter. Michael and Rose's friend were in the bathroom, but Rose was not able to get in there into the bathroom in time. She was standing in a room on one end of the house and witnessed one whole side of the house be torn off and floors buckling beneath her. The wind from the tornado picked her up and threw her across the room.

Rose called 911, an officer arrived at the house and told them to follow him to safety. As they are following him the second tornado begins to sweep across the county and the officer instructs them to get out of their vehicle and immediately take shelter in a ditch. They lay in the ditch covering their heads and hanging on to each other until it passed. Thankfully neither sustained any major injuries, though the trauma of the event will stick with them for years.

They do not currently have a place to stay and do not know what the future holds for them. Please consider donating to help them get back on their feet. They have lost nearly everything in this storm and will have to start over from scratch.

In the words of Rose, "it's devastating."

All proceeds will go directly to Rose Nielsen and family.
