Support Lisa's Battle Against Cancer

Dear friends & family,
This summer, our mom, Lisa, was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 3 gastrointestinal cancer. What started as a routine exam led to a surgery to remove several polyps, lymph nodes, and a tumor, followed by the news that her cancer has metastasized to other lymph nodes. An aggressive chemotherapy treatment plan was quickly developed, but unfortunately due to severe side effects, after two intense rounds of chemo she is seeking a secondary treatment plan in hopes that this one will be more tolerable and successful. She is also currently in the process of switching medical providers, in hopes that the University of Louisville Brown Cancer Center can offer better, safer, and more effective treatment options for her needs. We thought that she would finish her treatments and hoped for remission by the end of this year, but it looks like her treatment will take longer than expected and will likely go into the early months of 2025.
The last few months have been full of lots of ups and downs, a lot of scary moments and a lot of prayers, but one thing has remained steadfast - our mom’s amazing positivity and ability to face any challenge head on. If you know Lisa, you know the special kind of person she is. You know her beautiful smile; her infectious laugh; her profound optimism; her kindness and compassion; and her dedication to family, friends, and loved ones. She is always willing to go above and beyond for others, yet she rarely asks for help herself. It’s been difficult to see our mom accept her cancer diagnosis and to see all of the hardships she has faced, and will continue to face. This is why we decided to start a donation page to help her - because she is always so helpful and always there for everyone else, we want to show her how loved and supported she is through this journey. This donation page is meant to be a surprise, which is why we have set it up in my mom’s name. Any donations received will go completely toward’s Lisa’s medical expenses, treatment plans, transportation expenses to and from appointments, and to help cover any bills and expenses she will incur as she is taking leave from work to focus on her health. Any donations are welcome and very appreciated, and if donations aren’t an option, we ask for prayers or positive thoughts for a full recovery.
Our mom is the strongest and bravest person that we know, and she is truly inspiring in how she always chooses happiness and positivity to persevere even through the toughest and darkest times. Whether you donate, send prayers and positivity, or even just read a little bit about her story here, I hope that you feel inspired by her bravery too. Thank you so much, your support means so much to my mom and to our family.
With love and gratitude,
