I have a wonderful opportunity this summer to travel to Popayán, Colombia to learn about the indigenous Nasa Yuwe people and their language preservation efforts.  This will also make for a wonderful experience in linguistic field work, albeit just a taste.  I'll also, myself, be taking an intensive course in the language and be immersed in Colombian culture and their dialect of Spanish.
