Help Kiwi the Corgi Walk
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kiwi. I'm a 3.5 year- young Corgi living in California. I love to play, hike and chase squirrels. Well, my adventures officialy began when my servant, aka mummy, got me in 2013 while I was a weeee puppy who was on sale since I have a blue eye. Ever since then we've always had each other's back no matter what. I grew up in Pittsburgh, and later moved to Michigan with mummy and then California. We met lots of furry and not-so-furry friends, conqured mountains and rivers along the way.
Sadly, I suddenly started limping badly when running in the park just as usual last Saturday. Then I found out that I have a complete torn in my anterior cruciate ligament of my right hind leg. (rephrase in corgi language, I have a broken kneecap). This left me unable to walk or do anything I love.
My mummy took me to the vet right away on Saturday and then took me back for an Xray today again. Per the xray, the torn in my ligament is a complete torn and they also found out there's pressure building up around my lumbar area. The vet suggets us to do a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery and also full post-surgical therapy and exercises considering the fact that corgis are prone to disc disease and hip problems and that more than 90% of the chance the tear will happen to my other leg within a year or so. They also need to further analyze the pressure started on my lower back.
The vet said the cost will be around $6500 and provided us a list of specialist who can perform the procedure nearby. My mummy hasn't decided which specialist to go with yet. But mummy will provide updates in terms of the surgeon and actual cost when we do make a decision and we will also provide receipts when we have them.

Here's a list of veterinary informations I go to so you can verify the legitimacy:
-regular veterinary I go to:
University Veterinary Hospital(Berkeley, CA)
-The vet I got diagnosed (incident happened far away from our home so mummy found the nearest vet then):
The Animal Clinic (Santa Clara, CA)

Despite not being able to walk, I still can make my servant less stressed-out by being cute. Any amount of nom noms you can afford will be greatly appreciated by our little family. All donations will directly go to my medical bills and I will work hard to help other four-legged peers as much as I can.
