12 years ago on July 4th weekend our lives changed forever.  Jason was riding his ATV and flipped in a field near his home.  He was rushed to shock trauma where he remained in a coma.  (It wasn't like the movies where you suddenly wake up and spring out of bed.)   We prayed day and night for his recovery.

After 3 weeks his eyes began to  open slowly.   Even though he began to wake up he was unable to move himself.  His brain injury was so traumatic that it left him needing full assistance.  He was moved into the best rehab facilities, Washington DC then Baltimore.  With all the best efforts put forward his injury would not allow him to continue rehab.

Jason was moved into Citizens Care and Rehab facility where he spent 2  1/2 years.   He then was brought home to be cared for by his mother, family and many care givers.   He improved and some days we thought he was  going to overcome this thing that had stolen his very being.  Days then turned to months and months to years.  Each season brought a new set of challenges.  Soon those challenges took his life.

He passed on January 22, 2016 at approximately 10:00 a.m.   All complications related to his traumatic Brain Injury.

If you are reading this please make your children, friends and family members wear protective gear when riding an ATV.
