Take Kai's Pain Away

Hey everyone, this is Kai, the strongest little dutch shepherd mix with a heart so big only his smile can match.
Kai has had a rough go from the start surviving a puppy mill and unfortunately is now fighting for his life once again. Kai is in constant pain and barely walking. The left side of his body is completely failing him, his paws are “knuckling” causing him to stumble and fall on his face when he tries.. I am carrying him outside to go to the bathroom, he eats and drinks laying down in his bed and he just turned 6.. It is absolutely heartbreaking. He lies on his bed and watches his brothers and sisters run around who are much older than him and he can’t join them anymore, he just cries.
At first it seemed like a simple muscle strain from running but when we noticed he wasn’t getting any better we knew it was time to take him in. Since then we have been passed around between multiple vets who couldn’t diagnose the problem, and after thousands of dollars spent on x-rays, blood work, physical exams, medications/sedatives etc we were finally referred to a top neurologist.
After another very expensive visit we now have an idea of what is wrong, and thank the lord it can be fixed! However we’re having trouble affording to fix him now. They have suggested multiple extensive tests such as MRIs, CT scans and spinal taps and believe the problem is stemming from his cervical spinal cord. The only way to pin point the problem is to perform these tests which cost a lot of money to have done, more than I ever could have imagined. We have been given an estimate of $6000 for the tests, and from there we will need to pay for surgery to fix the problem.
We want the best for our little guy, he is so young and has so much life left in him. Without these tests he will continue to suffer until we can afford to pay for them but with your help we hope to be able to get him on his feet and out of pain ASAP. I don’t want to watch another tear fall from his face, and if you only knew him you wouldn’t want him to cry anymore either..
Kai is a joy to anyone around him, always greeting everyone with kisses and tail wags (even hugs although I know he should "stay down"). He is a huge part of our lives, my rock.
