Moving South
I have been living with my family now for nearly three years after a bad break up, and living in my hometown has drained all of my savings, as well as costing me my sanity and well being.
For my own health, the health of my diabetic mother and my cat Dorian, we are raising money to move down south to my birthplace where there are job offers waiting for us and a more clean and healthy living space.
This money will go towards paying to move our things and renting an apartment, as well as buying food for our first month while we settle in and start a better life.
I have dealt with living with family who don't accept me (I am a trans male, and gay to boot.) for most of my life but only as an adult have they made it clear I am unwanted. I deal with cleaning up their messes, financially and physically and occasionally mentally, for so long that it has worn me down in every way it can.
I have had two mental breakdowns in the past two weeks and I have had enough of letting myself get trampled by people who only care about what I can bring to make them happier.
It will cost approximately 1,626.00 just to rent the uhaul to carry our things cross country, on top of that will be rent, approx: [phone redacted] per month based on current listings. The rest of the money will be split between utilities bills and food for us and our cats (two of them, Dorian and Morrigan) as well as paying for my mother's medicine and mine.
My medicine is a heavy regimen of vitamins as well as future costs for a hormone imbalance that has gone untreated for lack of money for many years. My mother takes insulin, as well as a large regimen of medicine to treat neuropathy, weakened bones and immune system.
I also don't like to bandy the word about but my family is abusive, they manipulate and guilt trip and corner me into doing what they want, they refuse to acknowledge my boundaries or treat me with the smallest bit of respect. Dorian is currently sick, hacking up shards of chicken bones they put in the cats food. Both dear cats are long overdue for shots and I have been unable to get a good nights sleep in so long that my eyes have dark rings that look like too much mascara for a halloween costume.
I have been left without food, and forced to take care of my father who sits in his chair and roars out orders when he isn't at work for all of 4 hours a day. Those 4 hours are the most peaceful times, especially when my manipulative and abusive cousin and his girlfriend aren't screaming at each other, breaking things or trying to kill me and my mom. We need out.
Every little bit helps to move us to a safer healthier place in life.
We want to move out by the first of February, the sooner the better.
