Veteran in need of a little help

Hi my name is Stephen Maris
I am an Army Veteran. I have tried to keep going with out asking for help.
But I am honestly at a crossroad as they say. I am in a really tough spot here.
I am really sorry to ask for help.

On March 2 2018. I had my life changed,
I was involved in a really bad accident.
The House I was living in at the time Actually Arced. The house was an older house I guess that you can say. It was built in the 1800’s.
It has actually real trees as support beams supporting the Flooring. The house actually had Real Aluminum siding that was on the house. Which is an actual conductor.
I saw what I thought was fire coming from the side of the house.
So knowing how old the house is it would burn down really fast.
So not knowing the house was arced thinking the house was on fire I attempted to exit the house.
When I touched the metal door it actually locked me in then released me tossing me across the house.
I had felt pain through out my body and neck after this.
I was actually trapped inside the house now because of the whole house being on the Electrical Grid.
I had to wait for the Fire Department to get me out of the house, there was police, Fire, Ems,and paramedics needed for when I had gotten out.
Let me add this in the pictures I added you can see how the Main Power wire actually melted, you can also see the exit of the Electricity that Ricocheted off a Prior fusion I had over 10 years ago that went out the side of the house.

I was rushed to the hospital after they were able too get me out of the house.
Since this accident I have had to have 2 Major Surgeries. Spend more then 120 days in the hospital.
So right after the accident they did an MRI and a CT scan of my spine because I was having a ton of pain in my neck and radiating down my arm too.
They found out that the electrocution actually Melted my prior fusion, that was at C-6 and C-7, causing a Like tear drop going down to T-1. It also chipped my Cervical Spine at C-4 and C-5.
So I went to see my Neurosurgeon to discuss what options I had to do to stop the pain.
He suggested that I try steroids to let my body naturally attempt to fix itself.
While I was on the steroids I had a really bad reaction. My Blood sugar went to 508 and caused me to be blind. I was Hospitalized for 3 days because of it.
Because of me going blind I am sent to see my optometrist.
She does a full examination on me and tells me and tells me I now have a cataract in my left eye.
She looked and it was not present my last examination just 6 months prior. So she advised me now I will need to be seen every six months now to keep an eye on it.

Also So now I also go back to see my Neurosurgeon it was agreed that steroids was no longer going to be an option to try and help with the issues that I was having.
So The next thing we tried was doing an Epidural hoping that the pain would stop to avoid surgery.
We attempted that 3 times with no relief.
So we elected to do my first surgery. It would be to actually fix the melting, plus replace disc’s C-4 and C-5. In the procedure.
The surgery was scheduled on July 3 2018.
I had the surgery and I was actually able to go home that day.
I felt ok for just having surgery.
On July 5 2018 I woke up about 4:30 am with a weird taste in my mouth. So I went to the bathroom so spit it out and it was actually Puss.
I called my best friend explaining to him what was going on, telling him I need to be rushed to the Trauma Hospital.
After explaining why he came over and brought me to the hospital.
We arrived at the Trauma Hospital ( Robert Wood Johnson ) and I walked in the door to the emergency room and fell to the ground.
I woke up in the operating room.
I was asked do I recognize any one in the room.
I pointed out my best friend and my Neurosurgeon.
I was explained at that point I had to be intubated right away. I was put into a coma at that time for 10 days.
I was later on explained that they had Preformed CPR on me prior to me ending up in the operating room.
I spent a total of 15 days in ICU.
I then found out that I had a lot wrong with me at this time I had Cervical Spinal Infection, plus  4 PE’s ( Pulmonary Embolisms ) and 3 DVT’s ( Deep Vein Thrombosis ).
They had to put a Pic line in because of the medications that I needed because these were
All very serious life threatening illnesses.
I ended up having to spend 60 days in the Trauma Hospital,
The whole time nothing really felt right I kept telling them during this time in the hospital.
I finally got to go home totally drained due to everything that I had been going through.

During this time my landlord that owned the house actually took me to court to have me Evicted. They actually attempted to serve me while I was in ICU the notice to go to court for eviction.

So I get to the house I still have my pic line in and they have a Nurse and a CNA ( Certified Nursing Assistant ) come to help me because I am still on 3 Major Antibiotics through Intravenous medication.
One was every 6 hours so 4 times a day another was every 8 hours so 3 times a day and the other was twice a day so every 12 hours!
During this I have another issue, a Pic Line issue does I have to be rushed to the hospital.
To have a new pick line put in. They do that I am sent back home.
Now I am having a new issue I keep falling down.
After having a full check on me and knowing that I have a lot of issues with Antibiotics.
I am allergic already too 2 others types of Antibiotics.
I find out the reason why I am falling is because now I am suffering from Vertigo.
So now they have to replace the one that Was giving me the Vertigo.
Now that is done.
I am still having a lot of pain in my neck area, so my neurosurgeon said we need to do another CT scan.
I am at university radiology in New Brunswick.
I have my ct scan. They tell me I need to hang out for a few minutes while they have the doctor look at it.
Well an hour goes by and I ask if I can leave now.
They explain the doctor still has not looked at it. This goes on for 3 hours.  Now I know something is wrong.
Now my Neurosurgeon Office is actually just upstairs from this office.
So I tell them I am going to go up there to see what is going on.
He was actually in surgery. As I get up there I bump into him,   I said is something going on they won’t let me leave?
He says they actually had to come into the operating room to tell him he needed to see this right away.
As soon as he opened the scan I seen it right away what was going on.
My C-5 had slid 3 centimeters forward.
He told me it is called hangman’s Disease. Due to the infection it was like a lubricant in my Cervical Spinal area and slid it forward.
I was scheduled for Surgery again.

I was explained that this is a really long and could  be catastrophic surgery because of how weak,  I still was from the previous surgery and the cervical spinal infection i have been dealing with.

At this point I was just Evicted from the house I was living at.  That i was actually hurt at!  That to  top things off of the bad news that i  was just given about with my neck.
So now I had lost almost everything that I owned because of the Accident.
I have my surgery it was a 12 hour procedure.
I had to have 5 levels of fusion done it was C-7 to C-2.
I spent another 30 days in the hospital after the surgery.
I am finally released from the hospital and now I am Homeless.
I had been living in my car with the little bit of stuff I had left.
Some nights I was able to stay in a hotel room.
Well one of the nights while I was in the hotel my car was Repossessed with my stuff.
Due to all the time going in the hospital I couldn’t keep up with my bills.
So now I buy a used car for me to be able to get to my doctors appointments and use to live in also. I need a reliable car to be able too get me to my appointments.
When I got this I was usually just a few miles away from my doctor offices.
Now I am more then on average 80 miles from my doctors offices.
I have attempted to try and get new doctors.
But no one wants to step in at this point because I am still having issues.
So now I am in a really bad and rough spot.
My car only gets 13 miles per gallon.
It just broke down and I can’t afford to fix it now.
I need to get a reliable car to be able too get me to these appointments.
To top everything else off.
I also suffer from PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Suicidal Ideations, Anxiety, and ADHD.
I have to have a CNA, ( Certified Nursing Assistant ) come 3 days a week.
I wear now a life alert because of falling a few times due to my legs buckle and give out.
I have to have a Visiting Nurse come once a month.
i am on so many different types of medication now also that i have to go to the Pharmacy at least usually once a week too.
Between doctors appointments and tests that I have to do monthly,
I travel just for that over 2500 miles a month.
Per week I see a doctor or have a test about on average 3 per week.
I have been really trying too do this with out asking for help as I stated earlier.
I live on making less then $900 a month.
I am a Disabled Veteran.
I am truly sorry for asking for help. But i have to be able to get to all my appointments.

i have even put in pictures so you can see about the wire melted and the exit from the house too, So you can see how my neck slid forward, I also put tome pictured so you can see the 5 levels of fusion
