The Air Cadet Historic Flight CIO maintains a collection of vintage gliders which represents a unique collection of the types use by the RAF Air Training Corps from the 1940's to the 1980's. We aim to keep them in flying condition, including restoration work where needed.
Each year we spend £6,000 - £8,000 keeping at least four of these gliders in the air, mainly funded through our membership. While annual maintenance is largely a volunteer affair we have to pay for repair or refurbishment work, as well as the usual costs of hangarage and insurance. If you want to help us keep running (or maybe have enjoyed a flight as a passenger) please donate towards our anual running costs. We aim to raise enough to cover the Hangarage for two of our gliders each year
