I'm hoping that you can help lend some support to my nephew Noah Ocasio and his family. Noah is 6 years old and in May 2015 he went in for a tonsillectomy. Sadly, Noah went into anaphylactic shock and developed arterial blood clots in both of his legs. He was helicoptered to a top children's hospital and although he survived the ordeal Noah required a below the knee amputation of his right leg. Noah will continue to need surgery throughout his life to revise the amputation. Currently Noah is getting accustomed to his prosthetic batman leg. He is quite tenacious and to see him walk you can hardly tell that anything has changed at all. He recently joined a hockey team called the Sled Rangers. It's a hockey team for children with disabilities and he is really excited. As amazing as it is to imagine what it must take for a 6 year old boy to endure such hardship it is even more amazing to see how impossible it is to crush this little hero's spirit. This family has been through so much in the last few years. Their house was destroyed during hurricane Sandy and they are renting a 1 bedroom apartment as they are awaiting their house to be rebuilt. In addition to paying a mortgage on the old home and rent for their current apartment, they are now over burdened with medical bills. If you or anyone that you know would be willing to donate we would be forever grateful. Please help us raise money for his medical bills, physical therapy, and his new running leg!!!
