I'm reaching out on behalf of my friend, Kristi Crissup. In 1996, a life-altering accident left her paraplegic. Despite unimaginable challenges, she has faced each day with courage, strength, and a determination to live as independently as possible.
Thanks to a special needs trust, Kristi has been able to maintain some quality of life in the home that her dad designed to meet her specific needs. Though modest in size, it goes far beyond standard accessibility, with modifications tailored to her exact measurements and daily routines. From the height of the counters to the placement of appliances and emergency exits, every detail supports her daily functioning, safety, and self-reliance.
Now, the funds in the trust have run out, but her needs have not.
Without help, Kristi will lose her home and her independence, which would significantly reduce her quality of life.
A minimum of $150,000 is needed for the trust to own the house, allowing her to live there without jeopardizing her public benefits.
All funds raised will go directly into her trust account and will be used for:
Keeping Kristi in her home
Home accessibility and accessible transportation (including maintenance, taxes, and insurance)
Special equipment to maintain her health (such as a specialized bed)
Daily living expenses that enhance her quality of life (such as cell phone service and internet)
Your contribution, no matter the size, will make an immediate and lasting impact on Kristi's quality of life, security, and independence. If you're unable to donate, your prayers would mean the world. You can also help by sharing this fundraiser on social media.
