Bertha is a puppy mill survivor that came to AAWL through National Mill Dog Rescue. In her four years, she had never known what it was like to feel the grass under her feet, play with people or other animals, snuggle with a caring family, and never had basic medical treatment for numerous painful ear infections. Because of her untreated ear infections, Bertha now needs specialized surgery called a "TECA" (Total Ear Canal Ablation) to help relieve the pain and frequent infections she suffers as a result of her previous lack of care. Unfortunately, this is a complicated and expensive surgery. (Read more about her surgery here: http://www.petmd.com/blogs/dailyvet/2009/october/20-4840?mobi_bypass=true
Bertha’s surgery is estimated to cost approximately $2800.00
Despite Bertha's rough start at life and the mistreatment she suffered at the hands of humans she amazes us every day with how loving and trusting and friendly she can be when she has every reason not to be!
Bertha deserves a chance at a pain free, loved filled life. Please help her reach this goal.
