My precious friend, Kelly, is fighting a fight that nobody should ever have to fight- the fight against cancer. I want to share some of Kelly’s story with you in hopes that you may come along side me and help my dear friend get back on her own two feet.
Kelly is a 39 year old mother to three young children and a friend to many. Kelly has always been a solid rock for the people that are drawn to her. She has spent her life thus far making people feel important, special, and understood. Her family and friends cannot overstate how important she is to us.
For months before her diagnosis, Kelly had been experiencing unexplainable hip and back pain. In July of 2020, a trip to the ER for some rib pain revealed what was going on. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kelly was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that had metastasized and spread throughout her body.
Although Kelly’s cancer is not curable, it is treatable. She started treatments immediately. About 5 months after her diagnosis, she made the unimaginable yet necessary decision to leave her husband. She has been staying with her sister while she has been looking for a new place for her and her children to live. Due to her overall health and being considered immunocompromised, Kelly has not been able to go back to work. The only income Kelly receives is disability.
Kelly and her family need our help right now. She has a house lined up to move into in March. She will need to furnish the entire home.
