***UPDATE***
Hello Family & friends, we come to you all humbly to ask for help once again.
We firstly would like to start off by saying how thankful we are for all of the previous donations, prayers, love and support we received throughout the past 6 months. It has been a long road but nonetheless it has given us the hope that we so desparately searched for at the beginning of January.
After 6 months of chemo for my brother, his medical team truly believed the scans would show us the results we had been so desperately been waiting for, that he was in remission. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
On August 16th, Jacob received the news that his most recent PET scan performed on August 9th showed swelling in different lymph nodes on his body. Lymph nodes that didnt show swelling in his previous PET scans. This pushed the medical team to decide that the next course of action will have to be more extensive and invasive in order to cross that finish line.
Jacob will need to undergo firstly 4 more months of chemo treatment which we did not anticipate. He will also unfortunately need a bone marrow transplant. These are procedures that were not foreseen and the most difficult part is he will have to undergo treatment at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, away from home.
This update has hit us all in ways we cant express, but the worry of co-pays and travel expenses is truly what our biggest hurdle is currently.
I know everyone has already been so gracious to us, so if you cant donate please do not worry! Prayers and good wishes are just as valuable. We are still hopeful that this is just another hurdle we must jump over.
We thank you all for all of your kindness, support, and love. We know we aren't alone, we havent felt alone for a single moment in the past months and I know that won't change now.
God bless you all, thank you.
Family & friends, it is with a heavy heart that we wish to kindly ask for your help. On January 2, 2024, my brother was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's lymphoma. It has been a very shocking & devastating life update, but we are nonetheless staying hopeful that Jacob will make a full recovery.
Jacob will be undergoing twelve rounds of chemotherapy over the course of the next six months. His first dose is January 3, 2024. Jacob will not be able to work during this time, and our parents will be in & out of work to drive him to his appointments and be as present for him as possible. Thus causing a drastic change in our household income. His treatments will be expensive and inevitably our bills will begin to pile up. The last thing I want my brother to be worried about is the financial issues we will be facing. We all want Jacob to be able to focus on keeping a positive mindset to lead him to a healthy recovery. Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
All donations will be used directly to cover the medical bills, insurance costs, food costs, & travel expenses which will be accumulating over the next six months.
I know it's a hard time right now financially for everyone, so if you can't donate that's okay. We will gladly accept prayers, good thoughts, even cards you want to send to my brother to put a smile on his face, a thoughtful text message, or a nice phone call so that he knows he isn't fighting this battle alone. Any support we can get will be immensely appreciated.
We feel incredibly blessed to have a support system on our side. Knowing he won't be in this fight alone, and with God's loving mercy alongside all our family & friends, we will be unstoppable. Thank you all in advance. Love you all.
