100 for 100

Background:
We are Lummi Youth between the ages of 13-21 that are here to engage in our culture by preparing for the annual canoe journey and/or international cultural exchange opportunities. Our desire is to learn more of who we are as Lummi People and more of our strong Lummi values; while protecting, promoting, and preserving our Schelangen (Way of Life). As youth, we are empowering other young people and communities around us to stand up for their rights and be the voice of the next generation.

The Lummi Youth Canoe Family is fiscally sponsored by the Lummi Nation Service Orgnaization which is a tribally chartered 501c3 non-profit, since 1996.

100 for 100 Campaign:
As of November 22nd, 2017 we are happy to annouce our 100 for 100 campaign. It is our goal to receive support from our greater community and surrounding areas  to have 100 people donate $100.00 in hopes to raise $10,000 within the next ten days.  If there is ONE thing #iBelieve it is that we are a giving community and that we build the atmosphere of reprocrcity and giving. Your donation will be used for an oppurtunity to allow our Lummi Youth to continue to experience our strong Lhaq'temish Pride and culture, and even more so empower our young people, that they too have a voice for tomorrow.  Our canoe family has been invited to Arotora, New Zealand in  January/February of 2018 to share our culture with the young people over there and to to continue to platform the values of our ancestors. We are still currently raising money toward our Canoe Family's airfare and we must reach our goals and purchase our flights by December 15, 2017. The $10,000.00 we raise here will go directly toward supporting the cost of the airfare for this amazing opportunity in New Zealand.

We raise our hands to you for your support in advance and we would like to offer you the opporutinty to spead the love and joy with  us! /
