Josh’s recovery
Donation protected
Josh came into the ER on December 12. He became paralyzed and quickly lost his ability to talk. By the evening of the 12th, he was on a breathing machine. His health was declining, and he was transferred by helicopter to Banner University. They quickly diagnosed Josh with Guillain Barre syndrome. While they did tests, they found out that Josh has a heart condition only 11 people in the world have had since the 70's.
He has also had two strokes (not the cause of GBS). His condition got worse as the days progressed. He was now diagnosed with two forms of GBS. The other is Miller Fischer. After one week, Josh put himself into a comma. The doctors were stumped but NEVER lost hope. After many tests to make sure they weren't overlooking anything, Josh woke from his coma.
A week later, he is still paralyzed with little movement of his head. We have a long road to recovery.
We have four kids/ one on winter break from college. He is doing all the driving for daycare and for the other teens. He goes back to school on the 8th. Without his help, I will be torn between the hospital and home. I am no longer working, so I can care for the family. I am an independent contractor, so I have zero benefits. Josh will start disability within 60 to 90 days of receiving his paperwork. We require significant financial help.
Our family is not the type to ask for help. We have always worked hard and managed. This mountain, I fear, is too high for us to climb alone. We would appreciate any help. Thank you all ❤️
