Please Help Bella Live!

Please help my sister and her family save their precious doggie. They have fallen on hard times and need help to save her life after this tragic accident. Here's their story...

On January 10th, 2012, Taylor and I went to the Gardena pound to pick a cat. Walking around, we saw a litter of puppies, and there she was, the tiniest little shepherd. The pound told us that someone found the whole litter dropped off in the street and brought them in so young. We were so excited; we had to have her. A few days after we got her home, she stopped walking. We took her back to the vet, and they diagnosed her with parvo, telling us she had a meager chance of surviving. We called the pound to see if they would help us get the medicine she needed to try, and they said we could bring her back and replace her. We didn’t want a new dog; we wanted Bella. There was no way we wouldn’t at least try and make her better. We convinced the amazing vet at VCA to give us the medicine, and she taught us how to administer the medication and fluid. Over the next four months, we injected Bella with fluids and drugs in her neck, and she wasn’t allowed to go outside or be anywhere near other dogs. It took a long time for her to get better; we searched every kind of remedy and medicine from the vet and found homeopathic parvo medicine from a local pet shop. Bella was up and walking around, had so much energy, and had fully recovered; she was our miracle girl. She now had so much energy, loved to tear open pillows and play in the feathers, chewed all my black high heels specifically, she was in heaven, and Taylor and I always had big messes to clean up, but it was worth it.; she went out for a walk one day, and Bella was stung by a bee. We didn’t think anything of it until we got home, and her fur got lumpy, and her face swelled up big; of course, she was allergic to bees! Thankfully the vet told us to give her some Benadryl, and she would be okay, another crisis averted. A few years later, she went swimming in her favorite pond. Her daddy loved to fish, and her favorite was to chase the fish away and get the ball out of the water. Unfortunately, this time, she got a parasite that again put her down and out. The vet told us that she may never fully recover and that we would have to give her lots of medicine and a special diet to repair her intestinal tract. Bella doesn’t give up that easy; a few weeks later, she was back to running around and playing with her family. Try playing ball with a dog that never drops the ball! That’s her game; it’s for us to try and take the ball from her; if we get it, the throw is a bonus. Bella has quite a personality and is our best friend. To say she is a protective dog would be a colossal understatement. She is extremely loyal and would do anything for her family.

On Monday, Bella and our neighbor’s cat Boston were hit by a truck driver. It was a somber day for both our families. Boston, unfortunately, passed away. Our neighbor helped Taylor scoop Bella up and rush the vet with life-threatening injuries. Her insides were falling out, and all the muscle and tissue had been ripped away from her pelvic bone. She had a severe road rash that tore off all the skin of her right leg. The surgery to repair the damage is very expensive. We will not know the extent of the injuries to her intestines and urinary tract until after the first surgery. There is the possibility that after making it through the first surgery, she may need more but the vet is hopeful that she can make a full recovery if everything goes well. We are not ready to give up on our miracle girl, she has fought through everything else that has happened to her, and she is our family. A dollar or two will help us with the high bills that we need to pay to get our Bella girl back. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
