Please Help Us Recover from this Disaster

Hey y’all. My name is Andy Herod. I am an artist, musician, dog collecting weirdo. I’ve been working on building out this bus for a little over a year now, and it burned to the ground last night.

I had just installed a Chinese Diesel Heater and ran it for about 10 minutes to test it while driving around with the dogs. I parked it, turned the heater off, and went inside to make dinner, and 5 minutes later the whole thing was engulfed in flames. I didn’t have comprehensive insurance on it yet, so it’s all just gone.

This wasn’t just a bus. It was my dog transport, future home, and the current joy of my day to day existence. It was my dream. It was almost done, and now it’s all gone. The plan was to have a soul reviving adventure while living in it with the dogs next year, and to make an art project out of the whole experience. Then sell it to someone to recoup the cost and to pass the dream on to someone else. Now I’m just feeling totally defeated. But instead of giving up and walking away, I’m asking for help to get back on track.

I realize there are a lot of things in the world you can donate to right now and something like this probably ranks pretty low. Understandably so.

But if it’s in your heart to help a stranger recover from a huge financial disaster and to help them get a dream back on track, I’d be very grateful.

Im so thankful no one was hurt. And I’m so thankful to be alive and to have a chance to make something like this happen again.
