TWINS
Theatre.Workshop.Independent.Network.Sustainability.
We are Teresa Ruggeri and Veronica Pinto of Art is Not a Luxury, an organization that intends to carry out theatrical and artistic training projects accessible to all regardless of age, cultural background and economic possibilities.
Our first initiative will be TWINS, an independent and sustainable theatre pedagogy festival.
In June 2023 we will invite Deborah Hunt and Ana Woolf, two international artists with a huge training experience, to bring in their workshops. We will also organize with Francesca Romana Rietti, a theatre scholar, some discussion meetings between workshops participants, small theatre groups and independent individual trainers.
We will do this by combining theory and practice, asking ourselves a series of thematic, pedagogical, and practical-economic questions.
To give breathing space to independent creation and bring back to the collective dimension the ideas that move us in our individual practices.
To open spaces where research comes alive and make it dialogue with other. To give us the opportunity to enter in new artistic and human relationships.
To get out of one's vision of doing/thinking theatre and thus contribute to a circular cultural and social development

We would need your support to offer this high-profile training course at lower prices and to guarantee those who cannot afford the expense to participate for free.
With these funds, we want to set up at least three scholarships and to cover the travel, accommodation costs and fees of the two artists.
We thank the fivizzano27 and Le Tre Ghinee associations, which support this project by offering their spaces and helping us with the communication campaign. We also would like to thank The Magdalena Project - International Network of Women in Contemporary Theatre, a large community that we feel close to.
We hope this project is a first step towards building a truly inclusive, sustainable and independent artistic path.

TWINS WILL TAKE PLACE AS BELOW:
- Workshop: COMPLETE WORLDS. AN ADVENTURE WITH MASKS, PUPPETS AND OBJECTS, curated by Deborah Hunt, New Zealand/Puerto Rican artist, performer and director. 8 meetings of 6 hours each.
- Workshop: DONDE MUERE EL MÙSCOLO. Training on the study of oriental techniques and Latin American rhythms according to the principles of theatrical Anthropology by Ana Woolf, Argentinian pedagogue, actress and director. 4 meetings of 3 hours each.
- 2 weekends of practical exchange between participants in the workshops, individuals and independent theatre groups who carry out training and collective reflection meetings led by the theatre scholar Francesca Romana Rietti.
- The result of this experience will result in a performance shown in the open spaces of the city.

Siamo Teresa Ruggeri e Veronica Pinto di Art is Not a Luxury, un'organizzazione che intende realizzare progetti di formazione teatrale e artistica accessibili a tuttə indipendentemente dall’età, dal background culturale e dalle possibilità economiche.
La nostra prima iniziativa sarà TWINS un festival della pedagogia teatrale indipendente e sostenibile.
A giugno 2023 inviteremo a portare i loro workshop Deborah Hunt e Ana Woolf, due artiste internazionali con una grande esperienza nella formazione e, con la partecipazione di Francesca Romana Rietti, studiosa di teatro, organizzeremo delle giornate di confronto orizzontale tra partecipanti ai laboratori, piccoli gruppi teatrali e singolə formatorə indipendenti.
Lo faremo unendo teoria e pratica, ponendoci una serie di domande di natura tematica, pedagogica e pratico-economica.
Per dare respiro alla creazione indipendente e riportare alla dimensione collettiva le idee che ci muovono nelle nostre pratiche individuali.
Per aprire le stanze dove avviene la ricerca e farla dialogare con altro. Per darci la possibilità di entrare in nuove relazioni artistiche e umane.
Per uscire da un’unica propria visione del fare/pensare teatro e contribuire così ad uno sviluppo circolare culturale e sociale.
Abbiamo bisogno di tutto il vostro supporto per poter offrire questo percorso formativo di alto profilo a prezzi popolari e per garantire a chi non potrà sostenere la spesa di partecipare gratuitamente.
Grazie al vostro sostegno, infatti, saremo in grado di istituire almeno tre borse di studio e coprire le spese di viaggio, soggiorno e prestazione delle due artiste.

progetto offrendo gli spazi e aiutandoci nella campagna di comunicazione e la grande comunità The Magdalena Project - International Network of Women in Contemporary Theatre che sentiamo vicina.

- Workshop: COMPLETE WORLDS. AN ADVENTURE WITH MASKS, PUPPETS AND OBJECTS, a cura di Deborah Hunt, artista, performer e regista e pedagoga neozelandese/portoricana. 8 incontri di 6 ore ciascuno.
- Workshop: DONDE MUERE EL MÙSCOLO. Training sullo studio di tecniche orientali e ritmi latino- americani secondo i principi dell'Antropologia teatrale a cura di Ana Woolf pedagoga, attrice e regista argentina. 4 incontri di 3 ore ciascuno.
- 2 weekend di scambio pratiche tra partecipanti ai laboratori, singolə e gruppi di teatro indipendenti che fanno formazione e incontri di riflessione collettiva guidati dalla studiosa di teatro Francesca Romana Rietti.
- Una restituzione del lavoro negli spazi aperti della città
