Help Build a Permanent Childcare Home for HOD
We have been working with this House of David in Uganda for five years now and have personally visited and served alongside them in Uganda. They have become like family to us.
By the grace of God, this childcare home build is on it's second stage of development. Please read the following message from Director Moses Kisakye to see what God has made possible thus far and how you can help:
"Greetings from Moses and Susan Kisakye, Founders and Directors of House of David Ministries in Kampala, Uganda. House of David oversees many projects and ministries, among them is the House of David Childcare Ministry, which purpose is to raise the suffering children in Uganda, especially the orphaned and needy by giving them a place to call home, provide education and training them in ethics and in a spiritual manner, teaching them to become self-sustainable citizens when they grow up. This is done through training them in the co-curricular activities. We have been doing this work since 2013.
As we all know that among the best needs, shelter is very important. Three years ago, we started with our campaign of building a permanent home for our kids and those in our care. The plan was to build two housing units on our land. Through the help and support God provided through our donors, we managed to complete the first smaller housing unit this year. This has tremendously lightened the burden of rent, which went from $300usd per month to $85usd.
We are looking after a total of 50 children and managed to move with only 10 because the first housing unit only has two bed rooms.
The next part of the home build is building the second 2-story housing unit. The first floor will have a larger all-purpose room for ministry activities, programs and play space for the children. Several bedrooms will be built on the upper floor. Once complete, this will enable us to bring the rest of the children and their care takers. This will be a huge blessing and burden lifted from us and will bring peace in our hearts as far as rent is concerned.
Together we did it and together we can still do. God is the provider and we are His chosen vessels. God bless you as you stand with us for the betterment of the futures of these precious Ugandan children."
