Hello, my name is Rebecca, and I'm raising funds to help save my dog, Gus.
He is only 2 and a half years old, and he's my emotional support dog. I have cPTSD and am unable to work, he is my whole world, I'm not ready to lose him yet.
About a week ago, he got VERY sick. Out of nowhere he started throwing up, it continued for 36 hours, then he seemed to be getting better. Not his first stomach bug, I thought he would sleep it off. Next day, he was throwing up again, so we rushed to the vet for an emergency appointment.
He was there for 5 days.
His liver and gallbladder levels were literally off the charts. He spent days on fluids, painkillers and antibiotics, and after five days they started to come down a little, so he's now home with me.
We just got home yesterday, with nine different medications he needs to take every two hours from 8am until midnight. We have a follow up appointment tomorrow to do more blood work and hope the levels are coming down some more, but I have no idea what the future holds.
The bill when we left was over $5k. Luckily I was able to pay a large chunk of that thanks to the amazing community on Threads. However, there is still almost $500 owing on that bill, and that's not including the appointment and blood work tomorrow.
Like I said, I am disabled and unable to work. I only get a small amount each month, and I was NOT prepared for a bill close to what I make in 6 months. I'm basically out of money for the month at this point, I don't have near enough to pay for tomorrow's appointment, let alone all future appointments to come.
Even if you can only donate $10, literally every penny counts. Thank you so much for your time.
